At CodeBrillo LMS ("the Platform", "we", "us"), we are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, how we protect it, and what rights you have over it. By using the Platform, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Data We Collect
- Account data: your name, email address, phone number (if provided), and password (fully encrypted — no one, including our team, can view it).
- Facebook Login: if you choose to sign in with Facebook, we receive only your name, email address, and profile picture. We never receive your Facebook password and we never post anything on your behalf.
- Learning activity data: enrolled courses, lesson progress, quiz results, and watch times.
- Technical data: IP address, device and browser type, operating system, session logs, and login timestamps. This data is used to secure the Platform, protect our content, and detect unauthorized use.
- Payment data: all payments are processed through licensed third-party payment gateways. We never store your card numbers or card details on our servers.
2. How We Use Your Data
- To create and manage your account and give you access to your courses.
- To track your learning progress and issue certificates where applicable.
- To communicate with you about your account, your courses, or important updates.
- To protect the Platform and its content: we use technical data and session logs to detect suspicious activity such as account sharing, attempts to download or record content, or unusual concurrent access from multiple devices or locations.
- To improve the user experience and develop the Platform.
3. Data Sharing
We never sell or rent your personal data to any third party. We share only the minimum necessary data with:
- Technical service providers we rely on to operate the Platform (such as hosting, video streaming, and payment gateways), under agreements that require them to protect your data.
- Official authorities, where we are required to do so by law or court order.
4. Cookies
We use essential cookies to operate the Platform, such as keeping you logged in and remembering your preferences. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but some features of the Platform may stop working as a result.
5. Data Security
We apply strict security measures to protect your data, including full encryption in transit (HTTPS), password hashing, need-to-know access restrictions within our team, and continuous monitoring for unusual activity.
6. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account exists. When your account is deleted, your personal data is permanently erased within 30 days, except where the law requires us to retain certain records (such as invoicing records).
7. Your Rights
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of any inaccurate data.
- Request permanent deletion of your account and data by following our Data Deletion Instructions.
8. Children's Privacy
If a user is under 18 years of age, the Platform must be used with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian. We do not knowingly collect children's data without such consent.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be published on this page with an updated "Last updated" date, and your continued use of the Platform after a change constitutes acceptance of it.
